Spectacular Debut at the National Museum of Cinema the New Fiat 500X and Official Announcement of the Name of the New FireFly Turbo Engine Family

The new 500X is being currently presented to the international press in the fascinating location of the National Museum of Cinema, which has been hosted in the Mole Antonelliana in Turin since the year 2000. That it is a very special event is confirmed by the "New 500X" logo projected in the evening on the monument that has been dominating the city skylight for over a century: a tangible sign of the true bond between Turin, the Fiat brand and great cinema.
During the event, Luca Napolitano, Head of EMEA Fiat and Abarth Brand, announced the official name of the new FireFly engine family and of the two new engines - FireFly Turbo 1.0 and FireFly Turbo 1.3. Introduced for the first time on a Fiat model, the two efficient and innovative engines are yet another confirmation of the engineering supremacy of the Group. Neue Motoren-Baureihe FireFly in Turin präsentiert

Codename FireFly. Dahinter verbirgt sich die Baureihe der neuesten Generation an Benzinmotoren von Fiat. Luca Napolitano, Head of EMEA Fiat and Abarth Brands, hat die komplett neu entwickelten Turbobenziner in Turin offiziell vorgestellt. Die FireFly Motoren, die im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen Benzinern deutlich effizienter und um etwa 20 Prozent leiser als Turbodiesel sind, bauen modular auf. Jeder Zylinder hat 0,33 Liter Hubraum. Gefertigt werden sie als Dreizylinder FireFly Turbo 1.0 und Vierzy­linder FireFly Turbo 1.3. Beide Triebwerke sind mit einem Otto-Partikelfilter (OPF) ausgerüstet und erfüllen die Emissionsnorm Euro 6D-Temp.
Anlässlich der Präsentation im Nationalen Kinomuseum, beheimatet im Turiner Wahrzeichen Mole Antonelliana, wurde der Schriftzug „New 500X" auf das Gebäude projiziert. Der neue Fiat 500X ist das erste Modell der Marke, das mit Motoren aus der FireFly Familie ausgerüstet wird.
